James C. Lawson, age 92, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at his home.
He was born on December 8, 1930, in Nevisdale, Kentucky, the son of the late Caleb and Edith (Walls) Lawson.
Mr. Lawson retired after working 30 years for General Motors in Dayton. He also worked in lawn care with his son, Jimmy, worked at Moler’s Dairy in Dayton, and was a school bus driver for the Fairfield schools in Leesburg.
He is survived by two children, James M. Lawson, and Janie M. Lawson Rudy; two grandsons, Jaymie L. Rudy and Jason W. (Amanda) Rudy; five great grandchildren, Abby (Zach) Martin, Maggie Rudy, Gabby Rudy, Marrius Rudy, and Iris Rudy; one sister, Patricia Wyatt, and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonna E. “Bonnie” Lawson on June 5, 2019; a son, Richard L. Lawson; four brothers, Roger Lawson, Russel Lawson, Ken (Lina) Lawson, and Wayne Lawson; three sisters, Elsie Shelton, Verna (Curtis) Holbrook, Joyce Lawson and a brother-in-law, Jesse Wyatt.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2023, in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Visiation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Monday January 30th at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
