James A. McNeal, 81, of Chillicothe, passed 9:27 am Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at ProMedica following an extended illness.
He was born January 23, 1942 in Chillicothe to the late Gale E. and AnnaBelle Phillips McNeal. On December 29, 1963 he married his love, Gale R. Johnson who survives him.
Also surviving are children, Candy (Mark) Putterbaugh of Dayton, Tereasa Nelson and Randy McNeal both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Honey McNeal, Indica Medley, Shawnda (Dave) Huffman, Ashely (Mark) McElroy, Bryn (India) McNeal, Casey (Erica) Oliver and Cole McNeal; great grandchildren, Kiplinger and Alden McElroy, Brody & Rylan Oliver, Howie Huffman, Ista McNeal, Brielle Stokes, Nova McNeal and Silas McNeal; brother, Gale E. (Margie) McNeal, Jr. of Chillicothe; sister, Debbie (Melvin) Edgington of Circleville. He was predeceased by sons, Kim, Frank and Terry McNeal; grandson, James McNeal; father and step-mother, Gale and Catherine McNeal; mother and step-father, Annabelle and Lloyd Davis; sister, Sharon Findley.
James retired from the Mead Corporation after 44 years. He was a member of UPIU Local 731 and was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2023 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Ryan Bevan officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Ware Funeral Home 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday.
