Rita Janine Campbell, 70 of Greenfield, Ohio passed away at the home of her daughter, Wednesday, February 15, 2023 surrounded by her family.
She was born November 13, 1952, in Greenfield, Ohio, the daughter of Everett and Juanita (Newkirk) Tucker, Jr.
Rita was a 1970 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and will always be remembered by her loved ones as a woman that was a bit rebellious, spunky and always spoke her mind. She often lacked a filter, being outspoken and always telling it like it was, Rita’s voice was always heard. Rita was always up for a good time with her friends and enjoying her love for music, some of her favorites include The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Tom Petty and Aerosmith.
She enjoyed spending time tending to her flowers, a hobby she shared with her mother. Being with family and spoiled dogs was one of her favorite ways to spend time. Rita will be remembered as a woman who stood her ground, spoke her truth and was always true to herself, no matter what life threw her way. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She retired from Weastec of Hillsboro and was a former employee of Johnson Controls in Greenfield.
She is survived by her children, Angie (Jay) Wile of South Salem, Craig (Brandy) Campbell of Greenfield; grandchildren, Trenner Wile, Aubrey Wile, Tucker Wile all of South Salem, Carter Campbell of Greenfield; sister, Tisha Tackett, Aaron Tackett of Hillsboro; mother, Juanita Tucker of Hillsboro; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and her beloved dog, Auggie.
Rita was preceded in death by her father, Everett Tucker, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Everett and Elizabeth Tucker; maternal grandparents, Vaughn and Ruby (Wylie) Newkirk; and special friend, Janice Trent.
Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 20 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Monday, at the funeral home.
