GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio — The Gallia County Sheriff’s Office announced the results of a search warrant that was executed on Monday afternoon, February 20, 2023, just outside of the City of Gallipolis on State Route 7 (South).
The search, officials said, was conducted in response to the suspected trafficking of narcotics by an individual residing in the area.
According to Sheriff Champlin, the proactive policing efforts of deputies led to the acquisition of a search warrant for the residence. The search of the property resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics, including suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana, as well as weapons and cash.
Will J. Darnbrough, a 42-year-old resident of Gallipolis, Ohio, was taken into custody and is currently incarcerated in the Gallia County Jail.
Charges against Mr. Darnbrough are pending after consultation with the Prosecuting Attorney Jason Holdren’s office.
Sheriff Champlin expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the search, stating that it was an example of the dedicated and hard work of the patrol staff of his office, who continue to seek to eliminate the root of the problem that exists in the community.
