Elsie Marie Glandon passed from a blessed life of 85 years on February 22, 2023 surrounded by love from her husband, Ovid Glandon, her son, Mark Glandon and her beloved nieces, Kellee Sigler, Heather Simmons, McKenna Layne and nephews, Ashton Sigler and Gordon Sigler.
She is survived by her husband, Ovid and son, Mark, both of Chillicothe, Ohio and her sister Daphyne McNamee, of Grove City, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim Bob and Nola Sword of Weeksbury, Kentucky and siblings Delores Woody of Weeksbury, Kentucky, Jimmy J. Sword of Grove City, Ohio, Charles Sword of Inez, Kentucky, and Sylvia Six of Warfield, Kentucky.
Elsie and Ovid were married for 63 years and spent much of the time working together on many projects and hobbies. She helped create folk art wood carvings with her son and husband for many years. Her work is treasured by many.
Elsie was the heart of the extended Glandon family. She is survived by many other beloved family members and friends whose lives were touched by the gifts of her kindness, generosity, joy, humor and wisdom, all of which helped make the world a better place. She will be missed but those gifts stay with us and will keep her in our hearts forever. We find some solace in knowing our loss is heaven’s gain. It is now an even better place.
At Elsie’s request, no services are planned. The family will arrange a remembrance and celebration of her life at some time in the future.
