Esther Ruth Brewster, 82, of Piketon, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at her home.
She was born October 31, 1940 in Piketon to the late Dwight Leon and Flossie Catherine Blackburn McCoy.
In March of 1960 she was united in marriage to Donald Edward Brewster who preceded her in death on November 16, 1982.
Surviving are her children, Anita Kelley and husband Marty of Waverly, Sandra Brannan of Waverly, Mark Brewster and wife Becky of Waverly and Carol Brewster of Peebles, Ohio; grandchildren, Alisha, Nick, Brittany, Megan, Allie, Skyla, Alex, Derrick, Tomi, Michael, Destiny, Hank, Gary, Kristen and Josh; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Yvonne Brewster.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers, Wayne and Russell McCoy; grandsons, Mark Smith and Jared Lee Sparkman; great-grandson, Jayden Nathaniel Gregory, and a son-in-law, Todd Brannan.
Esther retired from Western Local Schools with 54 years of service. She was also the piano player at Smith Chapel Church for 73 years, also playing for multiple weddings, funerals and events.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Smith Chapel Church with Pastor Dave Marhoover officiating. Burial will follow in Gardner Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, March 3 at Western High School Gymnasium and for one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
