COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Columbus man has been charged with murder after the discovery of a body at a Rumpke landfill in Brown County.
According to information obtained by the Guardian, Gene Scott, aged 46, is facing charges of murder after the discovery of the body of Renee Benedetti, aged 40.
Reports state that Scott and Benedetti were involved in an altercation that turned violent in January. Police say Scott allegedly strangled Benedetti and then wrapped her body in a rug before disposing of it in southern Ohio. Benedetti was first reported missing on February 1.
Scott will make his appearance in a Franklin County court on Friday.
