Karen Lynn Wiget, 76, of Laurelville, passed away on March 7, 2023.
She was born on May 13, 1946 to Loring Hulse and Virginia Mae (Strawser) Karshner.
Karen retired from Nationwide Insurance and was a Giant Pumpkin Grower alongside Buddy Conley. Karen graduated from Laurelville High School in 1964. She started her career as a beautician, later working for Reynolds Aluminum and Dupont. Karen was a member of the United States Trotting Association and greatly enjoyed racing their famed horse Mondo. After retirement she started Mondo’s Ice Cream, concessions of pumpkin ice cream and pumpkin blossoms at the Pumpkin Show with Buddy.
In addition to her parents and stepfather Eugene Karshner, she was preceded in death by life partner Buddy Conley.
Karen is survived by her son, Brent Swackhamer (Amber Wilt) of Laurelville and grandsons, Trevor and Brayden Swackhamer.
Funeral services will be held at Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be on Friday in Laurelville from 10-1.
