WILMINGTON, Ohio — The National Weather Service in Wilmington is issuing a winter weather alert for the area.
According to forecasters, widespread snow showers, some of which could be heavy, are expected to develop this afternoon. These snow showers may reduce visibility and produce a sudden burst of snow, leading to brief light accumulations on grassy and elevated surfaces.
Due to warm road temperatures, accumulation on roads should be minimal, if at all. However, motorists should exercise caution and be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions. Additionally, there is a possibility of thunder snow this afternoon, so keep an ear out for thunder.
Please stay tuned for local weather updates and exercise caution if traveling this afternoon.
