NEW HOLLAND — Firefighters in Pickaway County responded to a reported structure fire, which occurred at Hamilton Street and 2nd Street in the village of New Holland. The call came in just before 12:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. Deputies responding to the scene said smoke could be seen billowing from the residence miles away.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found the residence fully engulfed by flames. It is currently unknown if the home was occupied at the time of the fire.
Firefighters are currently working to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring homes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Residents in the area are advised to avoid the immediate vicinity of the fire.
