ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Ross County firefighters saved a home from being destroyed in a fire that broke out in a shed adjacent to the residence.
The incident occurred on March 15, when the Ross County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a possible structure fire in the area of Lunbeck and Malone Road.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found that the shed had been completely burned down. The fire had spread to the back of the residence, putting the occupants in danger. Fortunately, the people inside the home were contacted and were able to evacuate safely.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire before it could cause any damage to the house. The resident of the home, who was woken up by the firefighters, stated that she wasn’t sure what was inside the shed, and she doesn’t know how the fire started.
At present, authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. While there is no conclusive evidence, authorities are not ruling out the possibility of foul play.
The quick action of the Ross County firefighters helped prevent a potentially devastating situation. No injuries were reported, and no further details are available at this time.
