FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — Troopers from various counties in central Ohio engaged in a multi-county pursuit on Wednesday afternoon, according to initial reports. The pursuit began in Fayette County and the suspect fled from troopers along I-71.
Around 1:30 p.m., the chase entered Franklin County and involved troopers from West Jefferson and Pickaway County.
Speeds, dispatchers said, reached nearly 100 mph.
The pursuit was eventually terminated for safety concerns as the suspect entered the Columbus area.
The reason for the suspect’s actions is currently unknown, but officials say the driver is known by area law enforcement. The Guardian will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
