JACKSON COUNTY, Ohio — A man is in jail today, charged in connection with the stabbing of his own grandmother.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call, early Saturday morning, from a 70-year-old woman at her Hall & Davis Road home.
Deputies arrived on the scene and found the woman suffering from multiple stab wounds turn her face, neck, and chest. She was transported to Holzer Medical Center Jackson in serious condition.
The Sheriff’s Office said that the woman’s grandson, 26-year-old Dylan Watters fled the scene after the attack but was later apprehended around 8:00 p.m. while walking along McCarty Lane near the ParMar gas station.
He remains in custody at the Jackson County Correctional Facility.
No further details have been released in the case and the investigation, authorities said, is ongoing.
