JEFFERSON, Ohio — Ashtabula County resident Stewart Stacy has been sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for multiple child rapes, according to Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.

The 55-year-old was convicted on two counts of child rape with force, as well as four counts of gross sexual imposition by a jury on Monday. His two co-defendants were previously sentenced in the case, while Stacy was found to be a sexually violent predator and will have no chance of parole.

“The forceful violation of children is unthinkable, heinous evil that deserves the harshest punishment possible,” Yost said in a statement. “I’m grateful for the jury’s discernment and for Senior Assistant Attorney General Kara Keating, who secured this life sentence. This defendant will rape no children in prison. Punishment is important, but keeping this man away from children and the rest of society is even more important.”

The cases were investigated by the Ashtabula and Conneaut police departments, with the prosecution led by the Ohio Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Section. Stacy was sentenced this afternoon in Ashtabula County Common Pleas Court. Found to be a sexually violent predator, he will not have the opportunity for parole.
