ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Law enforcement from two counties were involved in a pursuit Monday evening that resulted in a manhunt.
It happened at around 6 p.m. when it started on route 23, southbound in Pickaway County. Troopers and deputies were chasing the vehicle at speeds greater than 100 miles per hour.
Eventually, the chase crossed into Ross County, where the driver turned on Crouse Chapel Road. Once there, the suspect ditched the car and took off running in a field. Troopers called for the assistance of a highway patrol helicopter, who scoured the area from above. The main focal point of the search was around the Ross County Park District’s Kinnikinnick Fen Nature Preserve.
The events leading up to the pursuit and why the person was running were not immediately released.
The name of the driver was also not released.
