HOCKING COUNTY, Ohio — The Hocking County Sheriff’s Office has released additional details about the bomb scare that led to the evacuation of Logan High School.
On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office and other area law enforcement agencies responded to the school just before 11 a.m. after an item that appeared to look like a pipe bomb was discovered in one of the school restrooms.

The school was evacuated and eventually closed for the day. A bomb-sniffing canine was brought into the building, as were other bomb squad technicians from the Columbus Bomb Squad. Officials were able to determine that the item was fake and posed no threat to students or staff.
The device was seized and taken as evidence as the incident shifted into a criminal investigation.
No further details have been released at this time.
