ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — In a surprising incident, a homeowner in Ross County was left in shock upon returning home to discover their residence had been struck by gunfire.

According to a report issued by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a property located on Marietta Road. The homeowners, who had informed the deputies about being away on vacation, expressed their astonishment upon finding their living room window broken by a bullet.

The deputies’ report indicates that the window consisted of double-paned glass, with the outer layer having sustained the damage caused by the gunshot.

Reports state that the caliber of the bullet was .45, and the homeowner handed it over to the deputies as evidence. Additionally, the report mentions that the bullet was discovered underneath the window outside the residence.

The homeowners, who claimed, per the report, to have no ongoing disputes with their neighbors, remain uncertain about the motive behind the incident.

The case is currently under investigation, and the Sheriff’s Office has not disclosed any further details in their report.
