CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — A person has been shot after a fight in Circleville while a manhunt is underway.

It happened after police were called to a large fight at a trailer park on Villa Drive at around 9:20 p.m. on Saturday. Park residents confirmed to the Guardian the fight was between two separate trailer renters.

Police said one person was shot, but the details surrounding the shooting were not immediately released. Cody Kitchen was shot in the leg and was rushed to Berger Hospital and flown to Columbus.

Moments later, police said they believed there was a barricaded situation involving the believed-shooter. Police gained entry into a home but found no one.

Deputies and troopers rushed to the scene to assist officers.

Deputies, troopers, and officers were scouring the trailer park and nearby railroad tracks for a suspect. Police have identified the person of interest as William Rife, 31. He had been previously trespassed from the trailer park by management.

Columbus Police sent their helicopter to assist in the search.

A shelter in place was requested for residents living in the area of North Court Street and Hillcrest Drive, where the suspect was last seen. Rife was considered armed and dangerous.

No other information has been released.
