ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — The driver of a Western Express commercial vehicle is in custody this morning after leading troopers on a pursuit.
It all started in the area of Route 35 southeast of Chillicothe. The driver, reports state, refused to pull over for troopers and then fled. The chase continued along Route 35 until the driver took the Y exit for Route 23 north in Chillicothe.
“This vehicle was being stopped for a commercial vehicle inspection and I can confirm the act was criminal and not medical,” said Lieutenant Nathan Dennis with the Highway Patrol.
The vehicle was hauling paper goods and the pursuit never exceeded the speed, he stated.
The driver began to slow down in the area of Adena Regional Medical Center but then took off again from law enforcement. The pursuit continued into Pickaway County before the driver eventually stopped south of Circleville.
A canine unit from the Circleville Police Department were used to take the driver into custody.
Troopers said Jadrrius Rose, 23, was arrested. The man was also treated by EMS at the scene for a dog bite from the police canine.
