HOCKING COUNTY, Ohio — Hocking County Sheriff Lanny North is reminding drivers that deputies will be conducting high visibility enforcement for speed for the remainder of July.
Speeding fatalities have increased in recent years. In 2020, there were over 11,000 people killed in speeding-related traffic crashes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Speeding was a contributing factor in 29% of all fatal crashes nationally.
The Hocking County Sheriff’s Office is urging drivers to slow down and obey the speed limit.
