JACKSON, Ohio — The Highway Patrol troopers from the Jackson Post are currently investigating a non-injury crash involving two commercial vehicles that occurred on US Route 35 at the intersection of Sour Run Road.
The incident took place at approximately 3:53 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to authorities, the collision transpired when a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia, driven by Wallace E. Oxendine, 47, hailing from Maxton, North Carolina, was heading westbound on US Route 35. Mr. Oxendine reportedly slowed down while traveling in the right lane. Subsequently, a 2023 Freightliner Cascadia, driven by David L. Canty, 71, from Birmingham, Alabama, also traveling westbound on US Route 35, struck the rear of Mr. Oxendine’s vehicle.
No injuries were reported in the aftermath of the crash. Nevertheless, troopers are diligently investigating the circumstances that led to the incident to determine the factors contributing to the collision.
As the investigation continues, traffic authorities are urging all commuters to exercise caution and patience when passing through the affected area on US Route 35 at the intersection of Sour Run Road. Commuters were advised to remain vigilant and follow any detours or roadblocks that may be implemented while the investigation and cleanup operations are underway.
