PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — Two people were seriously injured when a truck crashed into a John Deere Tractor in Amish country.

It happened around 4 p.m. on route 41 in Pike County, near the Ross County line Thursday afternoon.
The tractor was driving along the highway when the truck ran into it, troopers said. One person was flown to a trauma hospital, while another was transported by ground.
Troopers reported the crash caused a small oil and diesel spill, which made the fire department declare a hazmat situation. After waiting several hours and closing the road down, the fire department ended up spraying the chemicals off the road and into the ditch.
Meanwhile, the local Amish helped first responders remove wreckage from the highway.
The names of those involved have not been released.
