PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — The Pike County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is working to remove an abandoned vehicle from the Scioto River near Waverly.
The vehicle was discovered by a passerby on Sunday, August 13. The EMA was notified and began working with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to develop a plan to safely remove the vehicle and mitigate any potential fuel release.
The operation is expected to take several days. The vehicle will be removed using a crane and a barge. The EPA will monitor the operation to ensure that there is no environmental impact.
