CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Over 500 participants have been estimated to have attended the annual Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce Business Expo.
On Wednesday, nearly 50 businesses set up tables to advertise their services and products for guests. Triple Crown Family Fun Center, owned by Chillicothe resident Kevin Ross, hosted the event for the 7th year, according to Chamber of Commerce spokesperson, Bobbi Kellough.
“We just couldn’t do it without the support of Kevin Ross. We like having it here because it is community and family friendly. We don’t want it to feel like a stuffy business event.”
While the adults browse the businesses, the kids can play in the bouncy houses and on the video games.
Each year the Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce brings attention to local businesses by holding the event. It’s a networking opportunity for business owners and a source of information for guests. The crowd was attracted by free food and drink and over 50 door prizes valued at $25.00 or more. There were lots of free giveaways including fidgets, ink pens, coasters, bottled water, stickers, and tote bags.
Newer businesses were represented. Among some of the more unique businesses to the area were Muddy Waters Wildlife Control, Tea of Life Apothecary, Snatched Bodies, and Metropolis Design Studios.
The event was sponsored by two major donors, Key-Ads who provided digital marketing and Ohio State University Manufacturing Extension Program, a small business development support service out of Piketon.
The Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce is always welcoming new business owners, Kellough said. According to the Chamber’s website, their primary mission is to “promote economic and community development by providing services and addressing issues important in business.”
