CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Party City, grappling with the aftermath of the pandemic, will close their Chillicothe store.
The company disclosed plans to shutter more than 30 US stores after initiating Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in January. Initial documents filed in February outlined the closure of 22 stores, with an additional nine announced in April across various states.
A recent update from A&G Real Estate Partners revealed four more closures in California, Texas, and Massachusetts. Among the chopping block is the Chillicothe location inside Shawnee Square on Bridge Street.
As part of the closure, the store is offering up to 50% off items and says “everything must go.”
The party-supplies retailer, confronting sales challenges exacerbated by supply-chain disruptions and helium shortages, seeks court approval to be released from leases on 28 previously closed stores.
Party City once operated 823 locations. Chillicothe’s last day in operation has yet to be announced.
