HILLSBORO, Ohio — A tragic incident unfolded in Hillsboro as an explosion claimed three lives, leaving devastation in its wake, according to authorities on Tuesday night.
Emergency responders from Paint Creek Joint EMS & Fire swiftly reacted to a reported explosion at Jimbo’s Auto Repair on U.S. 62. Shocking visuals captured by witnesses depict thick smoke and towering flames engulfing what once stood as a bustling business in downtown Hillsboro.
Amidst the chaos, one individual received medical attention and was transported to the hospital. Regrettably, three individuals were inside the structure at the time of the explosion. By 8 p.m., the fire chief confirmed that rescue teams had recovered the bodies of the three victims from the ravaged building.
The remains will be transferred to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for further examination and documentation. Their names have not been released. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
