ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — In a statement released, Ross County Auditor Jeff Lehner unveiled plans for the availability of 2024 dog and kennel licenses starting Friday. Citizens can purchase licenses at the Auditor’s office, online, and through various vendors across Ross County on December 1.
“In the Auditor’s office are once again happy to partner with the Ross County Humane Society and small businesses throughout the County to make licenses easily available for residents,” Lehner affirmed. “Fees are $10 per dog license and $50 for kennel licenses, as they have been for many years now.”
Under Ohio law, individuals “owning, keeping, or harboring” a dog aged three months or more are mandated to obtain an annual dog license. The deadline for purchasing 2024 licenses is January 31, 2024, with state-mandated penalties for late registration thereafter. Proceeds from license sales contribute to funding the operations of the Ross County Humane Society.
