WILMINGTON, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife is currently investigating a potential state record buck harvested by Christopher J. Alexander, 28, of Wilmington, in Clinton County during archery season on Nov. 9.

Hunter Christopher “CJ” Alexander poses with the deer he took in Clinton County. The deer’s rack was green-scored at a typical 206 7/8 inches, which would push it 5 inches past the Ohio record. Photo provided by Sierra Smith.

The investigation was initiated following allegations that Alexander failed to obtain the legally required written permission before hunting on private property. Ohio wildlife officers, in the course of the ongoing inquiry, have confiscated the antlers, cape, and hunting equipment linked to the suspected unlawful taking of the deer, as reported by the ODNR.
