ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio — On January 30, the Athens County Sheriff’s Office successfully located and apprehended 27-year-old Brady Terry, who was the subject of an active search due to multiple outstanding warrants.

Law enforcement had been actively seeking Terry in connection with warrants issued for offenses including Theft of a Motor Vehicle (F4), Receiving Stolen Property (F4), Theft (F5), Attempt to Commit an Offense (F5), and Failure to Comply with Order or Signal of Police Officer (M1). The Sheriff’s Office had recently featured Terry as the “Warrant of the Week” on their social media platforms in an effort to gather information on his whereabouts.

Sheriff Smith reported that a Deputy on patrol successfully located Terry, initiating a foot pursuit on Coal Run Road in Nelsonville. Fleeing into the nearby woods, Terry triggered a comprehensive search operation. Multiple deputies were dispatched to conduct an area search, with additional support provided by a drone and the K-9 Unit.

K9 Cody played a pivotal role in the search, ultimately leading deputies to Terry’s location in the woods. Without incident, Terry was apprehended and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
