VINTON COUNTY, Ohio — Vinton County deputies responded to a concerning call on Monday evening after reports of a man lying injured on Route 93, just outside the village of Hamden.

Witnesses reported seeing the man, who has not been identified, with a significant head wound and attempting to enter passing vehicles. Upon arrival, deputies found the man to be disoriented, combative, and exhibiting signs of intoxication.

The Hamden Fire Department was called to close the roadway while deputies and Vinton County EMS tended to the injured individual. He was subsequently transported to Holzer Hospital in Jackson for treatment.

Authorities believe the man may have been ejected from or jumped out of a moving vehicle, but the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
