MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio — In a busy day for law enforcement, Meigs County Deputies responded to a variety of calls across the county on February 11th.
The first call came in at 12:25 AM, reporting a disabled vehicle on SR 7 near Success Rd in Reedsville. Upon arrival, deputies found the vehicle unoccupied, secure, and off the roadway.
Shortly before 1:00 AM, deputies were called to a domestic violence incident on Lincoln Hill in Pomeroy. After arriving on the scene, authorities spoke with both parties involved and safely transported the male to a nearby residence, effectively diffusing the situation.
Throughout the early morning hours, deputies also investigated several reports of suspicious individuals in different areas of the county. Despite thorough patrols, no contact was made with the individuals matching the given descriptions.
A neighbor dispute on Whites Hill Rd in Rutland was resolved after deputies located the involved female subject en route to the residence. The female was taken to Holzer Meigs ER for evaluation, ultimately resolving the situation.
Later in the day, at 3:07 PM, deputies responded to a complaint of assault on Long Hollow Rd in Pomeroy. Statements were taken from all parties involved, and individuals were advised to stay away from each other as the incident remains under investigation.
At 4:55 PM, deputies provided assistance to another agency regarding a mental health call on College Rd in Syracuse, ensuring the scene was secure for Meigs County EMS.
In the evening, a juvenile complaint in Middleport prompted deputies to contact child protective services. Detectives from the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into the allegations, resulting in the arrest of Austin Carnahan for pandering obscenity involving a minor.
The night continued with deputies providing assistance to another agency for a medical emergency on Pearl St in Middleport and later ensuring everything was in order on College Rd in Syracuse.
