PIKE COUNTY, Ohio — A joint operation by the Southern Ohio Organized and Major Crimes Task Force, Pike County Sheriff’s Office, Waverly Police Department, and Pike County Prosecutor’s Office led to the arrest of Travis Dingess (50) and Tawana Scott (47) on Thursday, February 8th, along with the seizure of drugs and paraphernalia.
A search warrant executed at the residence of Dingess and Scott on State Route 220 in Waverly uncovered a firearm, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, and other evidence related to suspected drug trafficking activities. The investigation, which had been ongoing for some time, targeted illegal drug distribution within the village and surrounding areas.
Both Dingess and Scott were arrested and charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs and Aggravated Possession of Drugs, both felonies of the 2nd degree with a firearm specification. Additionally, they face charges of Having Weapons Under Disability, a felony of the third degree.
Gary Cavinder (37) of Beaver, Ohio, was also apprehended at the scene on a warrant for failure to appear on previous charges of Vandalism, Possessing Criminal Tools, and Theft.
The Pike County Prosecutor’s Office will present the gathered evidence to the grand jury for consideration of further charges.
