WEST UNION, Ohio — The Adams County Board of Commissioners is set to vote on a resolution potentially impacting the development of large solar facilities in the county. The proposed resolution, if approved, would restrict the construction of “Large Solar Farms or Large Solar Facilities” within Adams County.
The board will consider the resolution during their regular session meeting on February 20, at 11:30 am. The meeting will be held at the Adams County Board of Commissioners’ office located at 215 N. Cross Street, Room 102, in West Union, Ohio.
According to Ohio Revised Code, before any final decision is made, an “Adams County Solar Restriction Map” outlining the affected areas must be publicly displayed for 30 days at all libraries within the county. This measure allows residents to review the proposed restrictions and voice their opinions before the board’s final vote.
Some residents express concerns about the visual impact of large solar farms, while others see them as a potential source of clean energy and economic opportunity.
