WATSONVILLE, California — Nordic Naturals, a health supplement manufacturer, has issued a voluntary recall of one lot of its Nordic Naturals Baby’s Vitamin D3 Liquid, 0.76 fl. oz. (22.5 mL), 400 IU (10mcg) D3. The recall comes in response to a manufacturing error that led to an elevated level of Vitamin D3 dosage, potentially posing health risks to infants.

The affected lot number is 234909, with an expiration date of December 2025. Prolonged use of the recalled product could result in elevated vitamin D levels, manifesting in symptoms such as vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, frequent urination, and inability to thrive in infants.

The supplement, intended for infants up to 12 months old, is packaged in boxes containing one bottle and one dropper for dosage, under SKU RUS-02733.

Consumers, distributors, and retailers in possession of the affected product are urged to discontinue its use immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement. The lot number can be found on the back of the box and on the bottle.

Of the approximately 3,800 units affected, one-fifth have already been returned by retailers. Nordic Naturals emphasizes that the recall stems from an isolated manufacturing error, and there have been no reports of adverse events related to the use of this product.

In the event that infants exhibit any symptoms while using the product, consumers are advised to report them to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program online.
