WILMINGTON, Ohio — The National Weather Service has placed the entire region under the risk of severe weather today.
According to forecasters with NWS, thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon through the overnight hours. Dangerous straight-line winds, damaging hail, and a few isolated tornadoes will be possible.
Though storms are expected this afternoon, the threat increases during the overnight hours as a cold front begins to push through the area bringing much cooler temperatures late Wednesday into Thursday with a chance of snow showers.
Residents are advised to have multiple means of receiving weather warnings and to never rely solely on outdoor warning sirens.
