ATHENS, Ohio — Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies had a busy day responding to multiple calls for service throughout the county.

One of the incidents involved a report of a suspicious male on Carpenter Road in Albany allegedly getting into mailboxes. However, upon investigation, it was discovered that most mailboxes had fliers attached to them offering student painting services, with no criminal activity found.

In Millfield, deputies responded to a domestic dispute, but upon arrival, it was determined that no violence or threats had occurred. Similarly, a report of a suspicious female at the Tom Jenkins Dam was resolved when contact was made and the female did not require assistance.

A significant arrest was made when 42-year-old Timothy Workman of Albany, with several felony warrants out of Athens Common Pleas Court, was taken into custody and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail without issue.

Other incidents included responding to 911 hang-ups, alarms, disputes, and medical emergencies. Deputies also assisted with removing a vehicle causing a parking problem on Elm Rock Road and helping Athens County EMS with a combative patient in New Marshfield.
