GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio — Chillicothe SWAT team called to Gallia County after a wanted man turns his dogs loose on deputies and then barricaded himself inside his residence.
It happened around 9:19 PM, Thursday evening.
According to the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attemtped to serve an arrest warrant on Ronald M. Lennox. The suspect was wanted on charges of having a weapon under disability, possession of drugs, and aggravated drug trafficking.
Upon arrival, Lennox reportedly turned his dogs loose on the deputies who attempted to attack the responding units. Mr. Lennox then allegedly fired a weapon from inside the residence at law enforcement. Duputies then returned fire.
After the fire fight, a several hour long stand-off ensued. Negotiators were called to help get Lennox to surrender. The Chillicothe SWAT team was called along with their armored vehicle.
The SWAT team was able to take Lennox into custody. He was transported to the Gallia County Jail. Officials said additional charges against Lennox will be filed.
