ATHENS, Ohio — On April 2, 2024, the Southeast Major Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in Chauncey, Ohio, as part of an extensive investigation into drug trafficking activities. The operation was carried out with precision by the Athens County Sheriff’s Special Response Team, who secured the property located at 24 Mill Street.

Following the apprehension of individuals and the thorough securing of the premises, detectives from the Task Force meticulously combed through the residence in search of illicit drugs and related paraphernalia. Among those detained was Wendi A. Lizor, a 37-year-old resident of the same address. Lizor was promptly transported to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office for questioning.

Subsequent investigations led to her arrest on charges of Trafficking in Drugs (F4) and Weapons Under Disability (F3). Authorities then transferred Lizor to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail pending further legal proceedings. On April 3, 2024, she appeared before Judge Grace in the Athens Municipal Court, where the court ordered a $5,000.00 bond (with 10% allowed). Remarkably, Lizor managed to post bond in the amount of $555.00 on the same day.

During the search, detectives seized several items of interest, including a revolver, controlled prescription medication, and various drug-related paraphernalia. The case will now be forwarded to the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office for Grand Jury review.

Sheriff Smith emphasized that the investigation was initiated in response to multiple complaints of drug trafficking involving several individuals associated with the residence. Authorities anticipate additional charges against other parties connected to this ongoing case.
