WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio – Eight people will serve prison time following a lengthy drug trafficking investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. The probe centered on methamphetamine sales within the county.

Sheriff Vernon Stanforth said investigators began their work in the fall of 2022, targeting several individuals suspected of trafficking operations. Between September 2022 and April 2023, detectives seized over 13 pounds of methamphetamine, 186 grams of fentanyl, and 37 grams of cocaine – a total street value of nearly $500,000.

Multiple agencies assisted with controlled purchases and a search warrant execution. The investigation revealed some sales were coordinated with an individual incarcerated at the Pickaway Correctional Institution.

The following individuals were indicted and convicted:

  • Brandi N. Wood (42): Sentenced to 38-42.5 years.
  • Chad M. Davis (45): Sentenced to 27-32.5 years.

Sheriff Stanforth thanked the assisting agencies and Fayette County Prosecutor’s Office for their efforts. He stated the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office will not tolerate illegal narcotics in the community.
