CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Chillicothe’s Mayor Luke Feeney has announced the schedule for large item pick-up service, starting on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
City crews will be collecting items such as carpets, sofas, chairs, mattresses, and similar types of furniture. They will also pick up paint cans, provided the paint has been dried out or mixed with sawdust.
However, certain items are not eligible for pickup. These include stoves, washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, hot water tanks, heaters, old radios, computer equipment, air conditioning units, and televisions. Materials from construction, demolition, or remodeling projects, as well as tires, batteries, chemicals, and hazardous materials, will not be collected.
Residents are asked to separate large items from regular trash and place them at the curb for pickup. Pick-ups will not be made in alleys, and Service Department employees are not allowed on private property.
The pick-up schedule is as follows:
- For garbage collected on Monday: Large items will be picked up from May 28 to May 31, 2024 (No Pick-Up on May 27 – Memorial Day)
- For garbage collected on Tuesday: Large items will be picked up from June 3 to June 7, 2024
- For garbage collected on Wednesday: Large items will be picked up from June 10 to June 14, 2024
- For garbage collected on Thursday: Large items will be picked up from June 17 to June 21, 2024
- For garbage collected on Friday: Large items will be picked up from June 24 to June 28, 2024
