CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Horizon Telcom, a long-standing telecommunications provider in the Chillicothe area, is embarking on a new chapter under the ownership of Shenandoah Telecommunications Company (Shentel). Shentel announced the rebranding of Horizon Telcom to Glo Fiber, marking a significant shift for the company that began as the Chillicothe Telephone Company.
Shentel acquired Horizon in April 2024. The rebranded entity, Glo Fiber, will continue to provide fiber optic broadband services to commercial customers in Ohio and neighboring states, as well as residential customers in Chillicothe, Circleville, Lancaster, and Washington Courthouse, Ohio.
Glo Fiber is set to offer advanced data and voice services to a diverse range of customers, including enterprise clients, educational institutions, small businesses, and wholesale customers. The services on offer include dedicated internet access, high-speed Ethernet with speeds up to 100 Gbps, dark fiber leasing, and managed network and security solutions.
“Glo Fiber and Glo Fiber Business have built a strong reputation for delivering excellent local customer service and reliable broadband network solutions across our Mid-Atlantic markets. We’re thrilled to extend our brand, network reliability, and customer-centric approach to our new service areas in Ohio,” said Ed McKay, Shentel’s Chief Operating Officer.
This development marks a significant milestone in the evolution of telecommunications services in the region, promising enhanced connectivity and customer service under the new Glo Fiber brand.
