CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ross County Sheriff’s Office has released additional details in the ongoing investigation regarding the remains discovered on private property in the Baum Hill area on April 21st, 2024.

The sheriff’s office confirmed that the deceased is a male. The body, authorities said in their report, was found intact, and there were no immediate signs of trauma or injury.

The deceased was wearing camouflage pants, brown boots, a dark bluish shirt, and a dark baseball cap with a Confederate flag emblem. Authorities discovered a number of batteries in his possession, along with a glass smoking pipe and a fixed blade knife near the body. The man, deputies said, was located face down in a small creek.

The Sheriff’s Office is working in conjunction with the coroner’s office to determine the cause of death and identify the individual. An autopsy is underway in Montgomery County.
