CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The man accused of robbing a Ross County bank is behind bars.
According to the sheriff’s office, detectives from Ross County located 49-year-old William Eads of Hillsboro shortly before 1:00 p.m. today.
On Thursday afternoon, deputies were dispatched to the Buckeye State Bank located at 101 East Main Street in the village of Bainbridge following a hold-up alarm.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with bank employees who confirmed the robbery. The suspect, described as a heavyset white male wearing a dark zip-up hoodie, camo baseball hat, black-rimmed glasses, and a dark goatee, had reportedly entered the bank through the exit door. He asked a teller for a withdrawal slip, on which he wrote that he was armed and demanded all the money in the drawer, specifying that he did not want any dye packs. The teller complied with the man’s demands. The Sheriff’s Office has not disclosed the amount of money stolen during the robbery.
Detectives discovered that the same suspect was spotted earlier in the day at the Merchants Bank in Greenfield around 9:37 AM. After contacting the Adult Parole Authority, investigators were able to identify the man. A picture of the suspect from the APA was shown to the teller, who positively identified him as Mr. William Eads.
Eads is charged with robbery and is currently in the Ross County Jail.
