CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Local authorities were dispatched to the Dollar General store at 609 Central Center in response to a case involving counterfeit bills.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with store employees who reported that a customer, identified as Jamie Ford, attempted to load money onto a prepaid card using four $50 bills. The bills, when checked with a currency marker, were found to be counterfeit. Further inspection revealed that all four bills shared the same serial number, “PG11642988A”.
Ford claimed he received the bills from an individual named “Logan” as a down payment for a vehicle he was selling. The counterfeit bills, slightly off-center, were seized by the officers and will be logged into evidence at the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) for destruction.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Ford had an unrelated warrant for Failure to Appear (FTA) with a charge of Driving Under Suspension (DUS). He was subsequently arrested, transported to jail, and served with the warrant. Ford is being held in lieu of bond and is scheduled to appear in court today, April 25, 2024.
