CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The City of Chillicothe is streamlining its annual community yard sale event by coordinating it with the city’s large item pickup schedule. Residents can now hold yard sales on the weekend before their designated large item pickup week without paying the usual $5 permit fee.
To encourage participation, the city has waived permit fees for residents whose yard sales coincide with their scheduled bulk item pickup. Those wishing to hold yard sales on any other weekend will still need to pay the standard $5 fee.
The schedule for yard sales and large item pickups is as follows:
- Monday Trash Pickup: Yard Sale May 24-27; Large Item Pickup May 28-31 (No pickup on Memorial Day)
- Tuesday Trash Pickup: Yard Sale May 31-June 2; Large Item Pickup June 3-7
- Wednesday Trash Pickup: Yard Sale June 7-9; Large Item Pickup June 10-14
- Thursday Trash Pickup: Yard Sale June 14-16; Large Item Pickup June 17-21
- Friday Trash Pickup: Yard Sale June 21-23; Large Item Pickup June 24-28
