SANDUSKY, Ohio – Cedar Point amusement park will debut a reimagined version of its iconic Top Thrill Dragster roller coaster on May 4th. Now dubbed Top Thrill 2, the ride stands as the world’s tallest and fastest triple-launch strata coaster (any coaster over 400 ft tall).

The ride features two 420-foot towers, open-air racing-themed cars, and a linear synchronous motor (LSM) launch system. Riders will reach speeds of up to 120 mph and experience multiple launches, including a rollback and a reverse launch.

Top Thrill 2 builds on Cedar Point’s history of record-breaking coasters. The park previously introduced the first coasters to exceed 200, 300, and 400 feet in height.

“Top Thrill 2 offers extreme thrills with its height, speed, and unique design,” said Carrie Boldman, Cedar Point’s vice president and general manager. “Cedar Point continues its legacy as the ultimate destination for roller coaster enthusiasts.”
