SEATTLE and CHICAGO — Starbucks and Grubhub have announced a new partnership to offer delivery services to Starbucks customers across the United States. Previously the most searched merchant not yet available on Grubhub, Starbucks aims to fulfill customer demand for convenient delivery options through this collaboration.
Starting in June, the delivery service will be available in select markets in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Illinois. The companies plan to expand availability nationwide to all 50 states by August 2024.
“Customer demand for Starbucks delivery continues to rise, as shown by the double-digit growth in our U.S. delivery business last quarter,” said Meg Mathes, vice president of digital experiences at Starbucks. “Our partnership with Grubhub will enhance this growth by making Starbucks products more accessible to Grubhub’s extensive customer base.”
Liz Bosone, vice president of enterprise partnerships at Grubhub, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “By teaming up with a beloved national brand like Starbucks, we’re offering our customers more of what they want while expanding our merchant supply nationwide,” she said. “This partnership strengthens our platform by providing more choices and fostering customer loyalty.”
Customers can access Starbucks Delivery through the Grubhub mobile app, available on both iOS and Android devices, as well as on Grubhub.com. The partnership is designed to ensure quick delivery, allowing customers to enjoy their Starbucks beverages and food promptly. Orders can be tracked from preparation to drop-off through the Grubhub app.
To maintain quality and ease of delivery, Starbucks has developed various packaging solutions, including two-cup to-go trays and enhanced delivery bags, enabling drivers to transport multiple beverages efficiently.
The majority of Starbucks’ menu items, including seasonal beverages and food, will be available for delivery. Customers can customize their orders just as they would in-store, with options to adjust espresso shots, flavors, milk types, and espresso roasts.
