CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Ross County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at a residence in Carousel Court. The incident, was reported in the early hours of June 13.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene following a call about a bullet found lodged in the wall of a home. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the caller who reported hearing a loud bang on the evening of June 11, around 7:30 p.m., which she initially dismissed as her grandchild playing with a football.
According to the report, it wasn’t until approximately 1:00 a.m. on June 13 that she discovered a hole in the rear door of her home and a bullet embedded in the interior wall.
The trajectory of the bullet, which was lodged in the wall leading to a juvenile’s bedroom, indicated it had been fired at a downward angle from the northwest. The residents told authorities they had no known enemies or disputes with neighbors that might explain the incident.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
