CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Authorities are investigating a vandalism incident at the Chillicothe Transit System facility located at 575 E 7th St.
The incident, reported on June 15, around 7:00 a.m., involved significant damage to an air pump and chained bicycle.
Officers were dispatched to the scene andspoke with transit employees. A group of juveniles is believed to be responsible for the damage. The damaged bicycle air pump, situated at the front of the transit building near the bike rack, authorities said, was valued at $800, with the total cost including installation exceeding $1,000.
Video footage reviewed by officers allegedly shows four individuals at the scene during the time of the incident. One suspect was wearing a gray t-shirt, green shorts, and red shoes, while the other was dressed in a black t-shirt, black shorts, and black shoes.
Photographs of the suspects and the damaged property were taken, and an internal department email was circulated with the suspects’ images in an attempt to identify them.
