ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — The Bainbridge Fire Department in Ross County had a demanding weekend, responding to two serious incidents on Saturday, according to a statement from the department.
At 6:07 p.m., emergency medical services (EMS) crews were dispatched to an incident that led to the activation of a STEMI alert, a protocol for heart attack patients. The patient was promptly transported to Adena Regional Medical Center for specialized care.
Later that evening, at 7:46 p.m., crews were called to the scene of a utility task vehicle (UTV) accident initially reported as a possible broken leg. Upon arrival, responders discovered the injury resulted from the UTV accident, prompting the need for additional resources. A second squad and a rescue unit were dispatched, and Medflight was requested. A second fire crew established a landing zone at Paint Valley High School. A second patient was also transported to a local hospital for treatment.
